Wexford Village Homes Association

Madison, Wisconsin

Located on Madison’s west side, Wexford Village is a quiet neighborhood conveniently tucked away just 15 minutes by car from downtown Madison and the University of Wisconsin. The neighborhood has the reputation of being one of the city’s safest neighborhoods.

Green spaces like Wexford Park, Stricker’s Pond, and Wexford Prairie (Lot 400) also make Wexford Village ideal for outdoor lovers. Well-maintained walking and bike paths can be found throughout this very desirable neighborhood. Amenities such as the High Point Swimming Pool, Ashman Library, community gardens and neighborhood youth soccer/baseball make Wexford a delightful place to live. We have many annual events that are loved by residents. Nearby there are plenty of wonderful restaurants, shopping, and places of worship at quaint Middleton, West Towne Mall, and downtown Madison which are easily accessible to all residents by walking, car, bus, or bike.

The majority of homes are single family but also include condominiums—the communities of Saukdale, Quail Ridge and High Point Gardens.

We are anchored around 20.6 acre Wexford Park which offers a comfortable park shelter, large playground, tennis and pickle ball courts, volleyball, frisbee golf, two ice skating rinks, soccer and baseball fields, AND an adjacent woods with walking paths. Truly a gem of a neighborhood!

Changes to City Zoning For Wexford Village

The city of Madison has scheduled virtual meetings to gather comment on its plans to shift “Planned Developments” such as Wexford Village to standard city zoning. Property owners and occupants of properties proposed to be rezoned will be receiving a mailed postcard with information about the meetings, but here is information now about how to attend.

 Public Information Meetings

Residents interested in attending one of the meetings will need to register ahead of time to receive a link to the virtual meeting. Meetings will be held on:

The city’s project website is: https://www.cityofmadison.com/pdrezoning

Please refer to previous posts below on the Wexford Village Homeowners Association for more background.

Proposed PD

Convert Wexford to a “planned development neighborhood” because of our existing covenants since 1977.

As a part of the city of Madison’s larger development efforts, the Wexford Village Homes Association has been made aware of the city’s proposals to convert many “planned development neighborhoods,” referred to as PDs, to uniform city zoning. The Wexford neighborhood is one such planned development, which involves real-estate covenants that can be different than city zoning regulations. Wexford covenants have been in existence since 1977 over the course of 14 additions. Thanks to Ald. John Guequierre, 19th District, for keeping the WVHA Board abreast in recent months. On April 7, the WVHA board heard a presentation by the city’s zoning team (slides attached) and a majority of board members responded in late April (letter attached) asking for written answers to specific questions. A public hearing for all interested Wexford residents will be held at a yet-to-be determined date in May. Please watch this website for any forthcoming reply by city officials, as well as the format for a hearing. Please take this opportunity to become better informed! Tom Still, WVHA Boardmember

Changes to Wexford Website

We will be changing our website platform in the next few months. This is due to our inability to keep our old database, Springly. The new website will hold our database of homeowners and host our website, and as a bonus, all for less money to the association! Stay tuned!
